The balloon we're using today is a 600 gram balloon.
We filled it with about 125 cubic feet of helium.
That helium will raise the balloon up achieving about a 3.3 meters ascent rate.
How quickly it goes up determines how high it's going to get and when the balloon will explode.
It's going to grow to the size of a classroom.
It's going to be about 30 feet in diameter.
And then eventually it's going to grow so big it can grow no more.
It's going to explode.
And then the whole thing will come back to Earth.
We're doing it for Ms. Schweigers science class.
The flight is supposed to take like an hour and a half, and then Ms. Schweiger has to drive around 3 hours to go and find the balloon.
Let go!
Were learning about space and the different things in space.
And we're just learning about, like, different types of weather and stuff.
I want to thank Ms. Schweiger.
Like, she taught us everything and we got all ready like a week and a half.
So I think it was really impressive for her to get it done that fast.
