Two weeks out from Election Day, state lawmakers say they’re taking steps to limit possible voter suppression, advancing a bill this week to limit police presence at the polls, amid concerns over President Donald Trump’s recent announcement of plans to deploy officers at polling sites across the country to guard against voter fraud.
