Bridgeport to Baghdad: West Virginia’s 459th at Home and at War

When the Iraq war began, a West Virginia Army Reserve company was near the tip of the invasion force. They became the first Army unit since World War II to build a bridge under fire, as Marines assaulted across the Diyala River and into southern Baghdad. This 3-part documentary tells the stories of the soldiers, their families, and their challenges adjusting to civilian life after a year in Iraq.
